Wellbeing Haven for Students to Open at Mission Bay Sept. 14

UC San Francisco’s wellbeing space for students officially opens at Mission Bay campus on Sept. 14, providing a supportive environment for connection, creativity, and reflection.

The new space, named the “Wellbeing Haven,” was brought to life by Student Mental Health and Wellbeing’s (SMHW) Health Promotion, Outreach, and Education (HPOE) team. The Haven gives students a chance to unwind in a relaxing and welcoming environment in between classes and lab rotations. Hours of operation for the fall quarter are Noon–3 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.

“The space will be drop-in. We invite students to come and use the space to study, read, make art, do puzzles, grab some tea, and more!” said the HPOE team. “We want to co-create a space that builds community and belonging on campus— we will have music, snacks, and a ton of freebies and resources to support learner wellbeing.”

The Wellbeing Haven will host various events and programming throughout the year. In September, the focus will be Sexual Health Awareness Month. Students can stop by for snacks, community, safer sex supplies, and to learn something new!

  • Sept.14, 21, 28: will be a drop-in resource extravaganza: come check out the new space, decorate and fill your own self-care tin, and learn about resources to support your sexual and reproductive wellbeing
  • Sept.17 and 24: Sexual Health Jeopardy and Kahoot (respectively) - Join the HPOE team from Noon–1 p.m. for a fun trivia game (and win prizes!). Light lunch provided for registered attendees Register now

Students can also drop by from 1–3 p.m. to test their knowledge and grab some freebies!
